IDENTITY
STATEMENT
We Are
a non-denominational Christian service and outreach program.
We serve our local community and we support the outreach efforts
of a large number of other religious, social, and civic organizations.
All of the organizations we support are comprised of local
volunteers
who reach out into their own neighborhoods to serve and minister
to others in need without regard to the race, creed, color,
ethnicity,
religious beliefs, or gender of the person we serve.
We are
a not-for-profit, tax-exempt ministry organized under Section
501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service Code. Our principal
offices are located at 3600 Third Avenue South, Birmingham,
Alabama 35222. We incorporated in Jefferson County, Alabama
in 1970.
MISSION STATEMENT
We exist
to glorify God daily by our words, deeds, and actions. We
strive to serve His people and those who seek to know Him
in
a positive, loving, and caring manner. We labor to abide in
His word and the teachings and commandments of Jesus Christ
our Lord, by serving our fellow man within our community. We
multiply our efforts to reach multitudes by supporting outreach
ministries and community organizations . We pledge to remain
humble stewards of the gifts and blessings that God has bestowed
upon us, and we will faithfully follow in the pathways in which
He leads us.
CORE VALUES
We do not
advocate or oppose any particular denominational
distinctives which are Christian in origin and nature, but
seek
to fulfill the Biblical mandate, "If it be possible, as much
as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men." It is the desire
of Christian Service Mission to work in cooperation with
all
true Christians, regardless of their denominational affiliation,
who love and serve our Lord Jesus Christ.
We believe
that there are certain fundamental, universal
core beliefs which are central to the definition of true Christianity, upon
which genuine Christians of all denominations can agree. Our
views are abbreviated herein and more broadly enumerated in
our
complete doctrinal statement.
We believe
that although our salvation is not earned by good
works, human merit or human effort, our Lord Jesus Christ has
commanded us to do works of righteousness as a visible manifestation
of our faith in Him and obedience to Him. The responsibility
of those who are saved to do good works in service to God and
man, including ministering to others in need of food, clothing,
shelter and other physical and spiritual necessities, is one
of the primary reasons for the existence of Christian Service
Mission.
We believe
that truly saved Christians, regardless of their
denominational distinctives, should seek to work together in
every way their conscience and Scripture allows, without compromising
the Biblical truths of separation from apostasy, in order to
communicate the Gospel of Jesus Christ, to live holy lives,
to love one another, and to serve their generation so long as
they dwell upon this earth.

of Christian Service Mission is available from the office of
the Executive Director of the corporation.
